M1's referral program pays both you and a friend $75 when the friend opens a new M1 brokerage or retirement account through your link and deposits at least $10,000 within 30 days, keeping it there for another 30 days. You can earn up to 10 of these $75 bonuses per year.

## Requirements
1. Grab your unique M1 referral link from the app or web account.
2. Send the link to a friend who has never been an M1 customer.
3. Friend opens a new M1 brokerage or retirement account using the link.
4. Friend deposits at least $10,000 within 30 days of signing up and maintains it for 30 more days.
5. Both of you receive a $75 bonus in your payment accounts within 14 business days.

## Fine print that matters
- You can earn up to 10 referral bonuses per calendar year, for a maximum of $750.
- Bonus money must remain in the account for a 90-day holding period after payment and cannot be withdrawn or transferred externally during that time.
- Referral bonuses are considered miscellaneous income and may be reported to the IRS on Form 1099-MISC.
- Payment account must be an individual or joint brokerage account; retirement accounts cannot receive the bonus.
- New users who sign up via public affiliate links (e.g. social media) are not eligible for this referral bonus.
- This promotion cannot be combined with other offers and is non-transferrable.
