Privacy policy

Dealaka is a reference site. You can read every page on it without an account, without a login, and without us knowing who you are. This policy describes the small amount of information we do handle, what we do with it, and — because this site's whole premise is what we don't do — what we will never do with it.

Information you give us

Digest email address. If you subscribe to the weekly digest, we store the email address you submit, solely to send you that digest. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Tips. If you send a tip — a new offer, a correction, a field report — we store what you write, including any contact information you choose to include. Contact info is optional and used only to follow up on the tip or credit you if you asked to be credited. Don't include account numbers, application details, or other sensitive financial information in tips; we don't need them and will delete them if submitted.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — used for security, debugging, and capacity planning, and retained only as long as those purposes require. We use, or may use, privacy-focused product analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages viewed, approximate region derived from IP, device type). We do not use advertising cookies, ad networks, cross-site trackers, or fingerprinting, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

What we will never do

We do not sell or rent personal information — to anyone, for anything. We do not run third-party advertising. And a point specific to what this site is: when you click an apply link, you go directly to the institution's own website. We use no affiliate or tracking parameters, so we receive no information about whether you applied, were approved, or opened an account — and no one pays us either way.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that operate the site on our behalf — hosting, email delivery, analytics — each bound to use it only to provide their service to us; and where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of Dealaka or others. If Dealaka is ever acquired or reorganized, this policy would continue to govern the information collected under it.

Retention

Digest addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Tips are kept as part of the editorial record that backs published entries; contact details attached to tips are deleted on request. Server logs rotate on our providers' standard short schedules.

Your choices and rights

You can use every published page of this site without providing any personal information. To unsubscribe from the digest, use the link in any email. To access, correct, or delete information we hold about you — including rights you may have under the California Consumer Privacy Act or, if you're in the EEA or UK, the GDPR — email privacy@dealaka.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We honor deletion requests without requiring you to explain why.

Children

Dealaka publishes information about financial products and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, consistent with COPPA; if you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with an updated date, and material changes get an entry in the site changelog — the same treatment an offer change gets.
