Robinhood's referral reward is a lottery, not a rate. Robinhood publishes the odds itself: roughly 99% of rewards are $5 of stock, about 0.9% are $10, and about 0.1% are $200. The expected value is barely above $5, so the $200 figure that headlines most coverage is the outcome for one referral in a thousand.

The cap, exactly
Robinhood caps this at $5,000 per calendar year, per person. The limit follows you, not the card, so holding more than one eligible card does not multiply it.
Tax treatment
Robinhood says the value of offers may be reported on applicable 1099 forms without naming which. The tax falls on the person doing the referring, not the person referred. This is reference information, not tax advice.

We read Robinhood's published terms and they do not address where you may share your link. That is not the same as permission. Silence leaves you without a rule to point to if the reward is ever questioned, so Dealaka hosts no links for this program.
When it pays

The fine print that matters
- This is a random draw with published odds, not a range you might land anywhere in. Around 99 in 100 rewards are the $5 floor.
- The reward is stock, not cash. Shares cannot be sold until 3 trading days after the grant, and the cash value cannot be withdrawn for 30 days after claiming.
- The cap is $5,000 of stock per year through the program. Comparison sites citing $1,500 disagree with Robinhood's own page, and we follow the official figure.
- You must claim the reward within 60 days or lose it.
- Robinhood asks you not to text your referral link to contacts in Washington state, and requires consent before texting or emailing anyone.
- There is no US crypto referral program. The crypto referral pages exist only for the UK and EU.
