CIBC is offering a $200 bonus for opening a new iCan or MyChoice Prestige checking account. To earn it you need to open with a $50 minimum deposit, get $500 or more in qualifying direct deposits each month for three consecutive months within 120 days, and switch to e-statements.

How to get the CIBC Eligible checking bonus

1. Open a new CIBC iCan or MyChoice Prestige checking account with a minimum $50 balance.
2. Make qualifying direct deposits totaling $500 or more each month for three consecutive months within 120 days of opening.
3. Elect to receive electronic statements through CIBC US digital banking during the qualifying period.
4. Keep the account open on the date the bonus is credited.

The fine print that matters

• A qualifying direct deposit excludes transfers between accounts, mobile deposits, Zelle, external transfers, and branch or ATM deposits.
• Only one consumer checking account bonus is permitted per person regardless of accounts opened.
• Accounts converted from other checking account types at CIBC Bank USA are ineligible.
• Bonus is considered interest and will be reported to the IRS; taxes are the account holder's responsibility.
• Offer is subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
• A dormant account fee of $5/month (max $60/year) may apply if there is no activity for 24 months.
