How to get the M&T Bank Checking bonus

  1. Register for the referral offer using the referrer's shared link.
  2. Open a new eligible M&T personal checking account.
  3. Complete qualifying direct deposits totaling at least $500 within 90 days of account opening.
  4. Receive a $50 Visa reward card 4-6 weeks after meeting requirements.

The fine print that matters

  • Person-to-person, bank transfers, or other electronic money transfers do not count as qualifying direct deposits.
  • Referred person must not have been a primary owner of an M&T personal or business checking account in the previous six months.
  • Reward cards are mailed 4-6 weeks after all requirements are met.
  • Offer not available to M&T employees or California residents.
  • Visa reward cards expire three months after issuance and are issued by MetaBank.
  • A maximum of one reward card is given to the referred person regardless of number of accounts opened.
  • Referrer can earn up to $500 total per calendar year, non-rollover.
