California Credit Union pays new members $250 for opening a free eChecking account. To earn it you need to enroll in digital banking and eStatements, set up a recurring direct deposit of at least $400 a month within 120 days, and receive three months of those deposits.

How to get the California Credit Union eChecking bonus

1. Be a new member and open a free eChecking account with a minimum $25 deposit.
2. Within 120 days of account opening, enroll in digital banking.
3. Enroll in eStatements within 120 days of account opening.
4. Set up a recurring direct deposit of at least $400 per month within 120 days.
5. Receive 3 months of recurring direct deposits credited to the account.

The fine print that matters

• Limit one bonus per member.
• Bonus will be forfeited if the account does not remain open for a minimum of 6 months.
• The bonus will be reported as income.
• Account will default to personal checking without notice if eStatement enrollment is not completed.
• The eChecking account does not accrue dividends.
• $2 monthly paper statement fee waived with eStatements, or $400+/mo direct deposit, or if under 18 or 65+.
