Chase's flagship checking bonus, elevated to $400 from its usual $300. Direct deposits totaling $1,000 within 90 days qualify. Published end date is October 14. A successor usually follows, not always this high.
Eligibility
How to get the Chase Total Checking bonus
- Open a Total Checking account with the offer coupon by October 14, 2026 (online or in-branch).
- Receive $1,000 in qualifying direct deposits within 90 days (payroll, pension, or government payments); peer-to-peer transfers don't qualify.
- Bonus posts within 15 days of qualifying.
- Keep the account open 6 months so the bonus is not clawed back, and watch the monthly fee while it is open.
The fine print that matters
- Not available if you hold any Chase checking account, or closed one within the past 90 days, or closed one ever with a negative balance.
- Checking-bonus eligibility resets 24 months after your last Chase checking bonus (from receipt).
- Bonus is taxable interest; expect a 1099-INT.

Elevated from the long-running $300 to $400 in this window, confirmed across NerdWallet, Yahoo Finance, and BankBonus listings on 7/7/26. Verify the coupon still shows $400 at publish.
Historically the most permissive major bank on what codes as a direct deposit; recent public threads still report ACH from several payroll-like sources qualifying. Treat as unconfirmed until fresh reports are curated.
