The United Explorer Card offers up to 60,000 bonus miles for new cardmembers. You get 50,000 miles after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months, plus 10,000 more if you add an authorized user in that same window.

How to get the Chase United Explorer Card bonus

  1. Apply for and open a United Explorer Card account.
  2. Spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening to earn 50,000 bonus miles.
  3. Add an authorized user to the account within the first 3 months to earn an extra 10,000 bonus miles.
  4. Wait 6 to 8 weeks after qualifying for the miles to post to your MileagePlus account.

The fine print that matters

  • Not available to current cardmembers or those who received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the last 24 months.
  • Bonus miles do not count toward Premier status.
  • If the account is not open for at least 6 months, Chase and United can deduct the bonus miles.
  • The 10,000-mile authorized-user bonus is only awarded once regardless of how many users are added.
  • Annual fee is waived the first year, then $150.
