How to get the Chase United Explorer Card bonus
- Apply for and open a United Explorer Card account.
- Spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening to earn 50,000 bonus miles.
- Add an authorized user to the account within the first 3 months to earn an extra 10,000 bonus miles.
- Wait 6 to 8 weeks after qualifying for the miles to post to your MileagePlus account.
The fine print that matters
- Not available to current cardmembers or those who received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the last 24 months.
- Bonus miles do not count toward Premier status.
- If the account is not open for at least 6 months, Chase and United can deduct the bonus miles.
- The 10,000-mile authorized-user bonus is only awarded once regardless of how many users are added.
- Annual fee is waived the first year, then $150.
