How to get the MCU Everyday Hero Checking bonus
- Open a new Everyday Hero Checking account between April 6, 2026 and December 31, 2026.
- Set up a qualifying direct deposit into the new account.
- Receive at least three qualifying direct deposits within 90 days of account opening, with at least one every 30 days.
- Total qualifying direct deposits of $3,000 or more within the 90-day period to earn the full $350 bonus.
The fine print that matters
- Bonus tiers: $1,000-$1,999.99 deposited earns $150, $2,000-$2,999.99 earns $250, $3,000+ earns $350.
- Only new members or existing members without an Everyday Hero Checking account as of April 5, 2026 are eligible.
- Members with an existing Everyday Hero Checking account as of April 5, 2026 are not eligible.
- If you received any bonus for an MCU checking promo in the last 24 months, you are not eligible.
- Limited to one one-time bonus per member; bonus amounts are not cumulative.
- Joint owners are not eligible unless they open their own account.
- Teller deposits, ATM deposits, P2P transfers (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, etc.), wire transfers, and one-time ACH deposits do not qualify as qualifying direct deposits.
- Account must be open and in good standing from opening until the bonus is deposited.
- Bonus may be reported as taxable income on IRS Form 1099.
- Membership eligibility required, including a Hero Savings account with a minimum par value of $0.01.
